Woven in a deep, absolute black — a color that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, creating a visual weight that feels architectural — this shawl carries the undeciphered script of the Indus Valley Civilization down its right border in tonal bronze thread. Each character is drawn from documented Harappan inscriptions, arranged in a vertical column as they would have appeared on an excavated seal or tablet. No one has fully decoded this language. Four thousand years of silence, woven into a shawl you wrap around your shoulders on a cold evening. The border detailing runs in two parallel gold-toned lines along both long edges, giving the piece a structural precision that elevates it beyond a conventional shawl into something closer to a textile artwork.
