It is the color of the deep alluvial soil of the Indus Valley — the earth from which one of the world's greatest civilizations grew its wheat, its cotton, and its cities. It is also the color of aged leather, dark walnut, and the patina of bronze objects left undisturbed for centuries. Against this ground, the asterisk mark in slightly tonal thread is barely visible in low light — you have to look for it, and when you find it, it feels like a discovery.
