MELŪ Card Holder — Harappan Taupe Pebbled Leather

Taupe is one of the most difficult colors to execute in leather — too warm and it becomes brown, too cool and it becomes grey, and at either extreme it loses the complexity that makes it worth wearing. The MELŪ Harappan Taupe gets it exactly right. A dusty, warm, archaeological tone that sits between sandstone and aged parchment — the color of excavated objects cleaned and placed under museum light for the first time in four thousand years. On this ground, the MELŪ Twin Gate symbol is gold-embossed at center — the geometric mark inspired by the monumental gateways of Dholavira, the ancient Harappan city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most extraordinary examples of urban planning in all of human history. Below the Twin Gate, the MELŪ asterisk mark sits in smaller scale, creating a vertical composition of two symbols — architecture above, cosmos below. The pebbled leather texture gives the Taupe colorway a natural depth that flat leather cannot achieve — in different light conditions the surface reads differently, shifting between sandy and golden depending on the angle.
