MELŪ Card Holder — Celestial Charcoal Waxed Leather

The Celestial Charcoal is the most tactile and most weathered piece in the MELŪ Card Holder Collection — and the one with the most distinctive material character. Cut from full grain waxed leather in deep charcoal, this card holder has a surface that is immediately different from anything else in the range. The wax finish gives the leather a slight sheen that is not glossy but alive — it shifts and darkens where it is handled most, lightens at the creases and edges over time, and develops a patina that is entirely unique to the person carrying it. No two Celestial Charcoal card holders will look the same after six months of use. At center, a large Harappan celestial wheel is gold-embossed — a circular sun or astronomical compass motif found across Indus Valley excavation sites, believed to carry navigational or sacred astronomical significance. The wheel has radiating spokes, a ring of Harappan script or geometric marks at the circumference, and a central compass point — a complete cosmological diagram pressed into the leather of an object you carry every day. The charcoal waxed ground gives this embossing a different quality to the other colorways — the gold reads warmer and more antique against the dark matte surface. MELŪ wordmark at base.
